Dear Mary

Received Oct 23rd’s to day and Alice’s and yours of Nov 20 Don has not writen any letter yet as I can see, it is hard to get the letters very early I got yours of the 28th Nov Sat but have not any since that you have got along fine with out any old man around wish I was a brighter fellow would be more use to the world, has Wilford Gillen got home yet I here he was going this month I wish I was going next hope to before long, it was good to get the little scribles of the kiddies glad they are so fine and you are an angel to get along so fine best of love and good wishes

Dear Marguerite

Received your’s of Oct 23 to day was so glad to here from you try and put the right address on the next letters Don did not write this time I see by your letter tell Don to say come home soon or some thing I want to see you some day again was does he think about me being here now is he mad to think about it My dear little girl you are great to be able to do the shoping once in awhile Aunt Nellie came in a great time for Mother didn’t she the new man has to have his bottle he must be a terrable [toper?] already tell Don I am going to come back if it is not for ten years but I am going to be in Can. some day well bye bye Marguerite

Dear Stanley

Glad to get your letter you are some dandy letter writer this is the second I have had from you but Don’s I have not had yet which letter did it come with I got Mothers Mary and Aunt Alice’s to day and the one with all you kiddies in but none from Don you could not have put his in tell Mother she must have read in the paper our address before this I have put it in letters in Harve lots of times havent you folks had any from Harve yet dear oh dear you do not think much about me if you do not know what address to put on the letters 1st Batt d Co France thirteen Battery B.E.F the little kids were all here but not Don’s was his in this letter or not, Marguerite’s was a good one she is a great girl tell Mother will be glad to get a picture of the little new man the mail is not coming very good this letter of you kiddies was sent on the 29th of Oct and the one of Aunt Alice’s was Nov 20th it should have been addressed 1st Batt France BEF that’s all same no 272521 WR Gullen we had a terrable march yesterday thirteen M I am very tired to day wish this trouble would end thought I had a job the other day, but was not able to keep it some one was there and did not push him out, I am feeling very gloomy these days wish I was home working with pick and shovel Instead of limping around here with a terrable dread of the future If I can get them to let me work in munitions I am unfit for this line work hope this new man fires up term’s soon now bye bye dear kiddies, so glad to get your letters,
