My Dearest Mother, & all;
Just a few lines to let you know that I received the little parcel O.K., and was certainly very pleased with it. I trust that you have all had a very merry Xmas, and are well into a prosperous new year.
We have moved back a few miles for a few days rest for the troops, the first they have had since we came out here. The rest has, however, turned out to be a few days of drill and so the men would far rather be back in the line.
I was told on Sunday, that my pass would come through to-day but was disappointed, so some body must have been trying to knock me. I should go next week though. I expect you know that we have a third division in the field now, made up of the corps troops, while the old third Div. in Eng, will come out shortly as a fourth Can. Div.
I have not got any news to tell you, so I should close now. Had a photo of Len Marshall last week.
Best love to all from
Arthur JA Killough
