Dear Mother:-

Received your welcome letter dated August 12th and was very glad to hear from you but didn't expect such a short letter after such an event being pulled off the last of July. I think I told you I saw Wilfred Duffy in England.

We have had very wet weather here lately No3204020 Pte Allan Hamm D. Corp 85th Battn B.E.F. France. but it is fine today and awfully windy.
