Sept. 8/1915
Dear Mother
I will just drop you a few lines to let you know I am well and hope you are all the same. We are in the trenches now and have not too bad a time. Once in a while Fritz sends a few shells over but thats nothing. I saw quite a lot of the old 6th Regt boys since I came. Well the censor has a heavy hand so I can not pit much in the letters. I wrote you a letter a few days before I left England so I hope you got it. We see a few German aeroplanes once in a while but that is about all The weather here is very like British Columbia - which helps quite a lot. Well that is about all I can put in this time so now I must go and find out the address I can give you
Hoping to hear from you soon
Goodbye for the present,
Charlie.
Be sure and put the address on my letters as regards name & number the same as when I was in England. I am not allowed to put the name of my regiment on the letter so just the address the same as usual.
Sept 11/15
We are not out of the trenches and having a rest up.

I got three bundles of paper from you today
