The 1st + 2nd Divisions took Passchendaele Village and the ridge today. The fighting was heavy and the casualties great. Had 2 men wounded at the battery during the action.

Saturday Nov. 10, 1917

Rained all day

Put on a show at 6.05 A.M. and took a little more ground from Fritz. The British Division on our left fell down miserably as we had to drop our left flank Sack.

The pill box was shelled heavily all day.

Sunday Nov. 11, 1917

No rain.

Fritz shelled the vicinity of the 15th Btty and our Pill box heavily all day. No casualties but most uncomfortable.

The pill box has been leaking steadily and our beds are wet. The country is a sea of mud.

Monday Nov. 12, 1917

Fairly clear.

Was relieved by McCrimmon in the A.M. and returned to Wagon Lines. Had a rough passage getting down as Fritz was shelling promiscuously over the back area.

AT the wagon lines all day. Had dinner with the 15th Btty

Wednesday Nov. 21, 1917

At the Pill Box all day. Nothing unusual occurred. Our area received its usual heavy shelling.

Thursday Nov. 22, 1917

Clear.

Two sections of the battery relieved today. Came back to the Wagon Lines after taking tow of the relieving officers up to the Hillside Farm and showing them the features of the country. Was mighty glad to get out of the place for the last time. Between the continuous shelling and deep mud, life was anything but pleasant. Our casualties have been fairly heavy.

Friday Nov. 23, 1917

At the wagon lines all day. Major Flexman came down from the Battery after turning over to the relieving. He looked pretty badly fogged out.

Thank Goodness that our tour in this country is ended and we go back to a decent part of the lines.

Received a parcel from Maria

Very cold and windy.

Left Marl - Les - Mives at 6 A.M. and arrived at La Fargette at 3 P.M. Had a long, cold trying trip. Put up in Wagon lines along the La Fargette - Mont St. Eloi Rd. The accommodations for the men was not palatial and neither was it for the officers.
