Dear Mrs. Savage,

I wish to thank the Alliance through you for the Xmas parcel you so kindly sent me.

I did not get the parcel from the Alliance last year until March 2nd owing to my isolated situation, and this year I received my parcel about Nov 1st as I happened to be in Toronto then & it was thought more convenient for me to take it then. So that Xmas 1916 occurred in March 1917 for me & Xmas 1917 occurred in Nov 1917 which is quite a unique state of affairs.

I still find frequent use for the "trench" mirror which was enclosed in last year's parcel. Once again let me thank you for the Xmas parcel of this year which though received early was very much appreciated.
