Dr. D. G. Macnaughtan.
Applecross. Ross-shire, N.B.

April 3rd 1919

Dear Jessie & Stuart - Just a note this morning while I send a note to the people at home.

Applecross is just about opposite of (?) on the west coast of Scotland and think since I am so near I should look up the old Matheson home at Edinbane Skye. They tell me that the old house is still being used and occupied by a McLeod family.

Dr. MacNaughtan's people have been very kind to me in asking me to visit them. The Dr. came from Kenmore years ago and as far as we can determine belongs to the same family as that of our grandfather McNaughtan. I am sending a snap of he and his wife home, and you will no doubt see it.

The settlements here are very different to what I have seen any place before. Along the rocky coast there are a number of small villages all of which have Galeac names. The people live mostly by fishing and keeping sheep and seem to be both happy and comfortable.

I shall write you later

Am quite well

Affectionately Leslie
