Diary
April 7 - Had very little sleep during the night. Car too crowded. Making good time, going sometimes at the rate of 40 miles an hour. A private named Keller from Bowmanville, being drunk ever since he started from home, got the D.T.s, suddenly jumped through the car window carrying away glass and all. Backed up train but could only find his tracks in snow leading to heavy bush land. Reached Biscotasing about 6 p.m. Tea, bread and chunks of beef served us at railway camp for our supper. An awful scramble is getting to the tables only seating 40 at a time. Trains moved off at 8.
