My Dear Son
Dad had this ready to write you, and as he is out I thought I would use it, I hope you are well, also Peggy and David. [?] we have not heard from you for quite a few weeks, we have not heard from Peggy for over 3 weeks and that is most unusual for her, did you have your leave to England, Dad is very busy with the Election, I think he is going to be the returning Officer, so you know what work that means. we just got new Eavestroughing all round the house, I tried 2 year ago but due to war I could not get it done, however it is nice now, I am waiting to get the bill to see what it cost
I am now trying to get a man to paint the out side but that is a hard job, and also I have to get new steps at the back door, however I will try and get it done before the end of April, did Dad tell you that Ken. Fox is in France or Holland he was asking his Mother for your address, did you know that Jack [Loftus?] is missing also Earl Bentley, Mrs [Loftus?] is quite sick, but Mrs Bentley is keeping up fine, we were at Isabel’s place yesterday, I was telling her, we may not be out much until the Election is over, we intend using the house for office, have you seen Gordon we have not heard from him since early in Feb. however they say no news is good news
I guess I will have to finish Dad has just came in with Norm. Bennett and Mrs Conner and another Lady a Mrs [Wiggett?] or some name like that, I am looking forward to young David and I think this is a great Country for him, I was speaking to the Hyndman’s on the phone tonight she was saying that Andy is still in London I think he is at headquarters.
