Dear Phyllis

Guess Im a “Bad-Boy”. Every time that I write I have to think up a new excuse for being so long till now I am almost at my wits end for thinking up a new excuse.

I went on a 72 hour Pass and that kind of threw me out of kilter, and then I went on guard duty for three nights and that helped to throw me out of gear some more and then one sunday I went on a Tour to visit Vimy Ridge and that helped some more again so there you have it. Kinda weak isnt it.

My Pass took me to Blankenberge which is a Belgium sea side resort not so very far from Ostend. It was the first time that I had been in the sea and it was sure some experience. The next sunday 24th I went to Vimy Ridge on a Tour. It was a 4 hour ride in a truck but well worth it. It is the most beautiful memorial that I have ever seen.

By the way thanks a heap for your parcel which arrived on the 22nd. Also got a parcel from Home to-day.

That will be the day when you get dressed in two minutes flat. I wanta see that. I do.

So long for now
Allen.

P.S. – Please excuse the letters the way they are written
Poor Grammar, Poor writting and Poor composition all the way through.
