Dear Eira;

Just a few lines in answer to your very welcome letter received a short time ago. I was indeed very pleased to hear from you.

As you will most likely notice by the address I am now in Van. and have been here since the end of January. For awhile I was an out patient but at present I am back in bed once again. They are still trying to find out what causes my Sed. Rate and temperature to be up and not normal; then my legs and knees are almost as bad as ever. I really do not know how long I will be in bed this time but do hope its not for long.

I have had most of my teeth out but still have about four more to come out and a couple to be fixed before I get my plates. Most of my teeth were badly decayed so do not mind much in loosing them. I haven’t had my tonsils out as yet but will do so one of these fine days by all reports. I only hope all my trouble will cure up then as its no fun being like this all the time.

Since coming to Van. I haven’t been doing much of anything exciting except going to some very good shows. I haven’t been to any dances or bowling though and I really do miss it in a way. I have been out visiting a couple of times; go to Church nearly every Sunday. Have also been doing quite a bit of knitting, letter writing and stay in most nights. About a week ago I went for a drive around Stanley Park and really did enjoy it very much indeed. No fooling Vancouver is really a beautiful city and is in a very nice location.

We have been having some very nice weather out here lately just like spring, but we still get the odd days of rain and fog. I haven’t seen any snow out here at all since Christmas.

Well Eira whats news? What have you been doing lately? How did the Banquets and dances turn out? How are your mother and dad keeping? Remember me to them both please. What kind of weather have you been having lately? How goes the curling? Have you been skating at all this winter? Have you seen Dorothy and Gordon lately?

Since coming into the Hospital I have been doing quite a bit of knitting. I am knitting Jack a blue sleeveless sweater in a rather pretty pattern but it does take a lot of time and watching. Then besides that I am still trying to catch up with my letter writing.

News is getting scarse so really must call this quits for now. Write again soon when you have a few minutes to spare. Will write again soon and hope to have more news the next time. Take care of yourself.

Always,
Jean.
