My Dear Nerta,

Well Honey, I have not had a letter from you for some little time, but will write this to you at home, and they can forward it to you. I am glad in a way that you went to Hamilton, as I think it is a dandy town. I am writing Mae to-day, and I told her, that I think you are there. She may or may not look you up. I have not asked her to, tho, as she would feel under an obligation to do so. You may also see Quinnie. Any time you are very lonely, just run up to Mr. Ellis’ office and see her. She is a dear girl and would be glad to see a sister of mine any old time.

I have received to-day, a new lens for my large camera. It is an Aldis 7.7 with 7½” focus and cost me £1/15/-, as lenses go, over here at present, this is very cheap. It is the same make and aperture as my little pocket machine, and I believe a very good lens. I am still keeping the Beck F8. Symmetrical that I got with the machine, and it is convertible, giving about 9” focus with full lens, 11” with front, and about 12 to 14” with back combination, and cuts very close to edge of the ½ plate with F16 opening and for ¼ (3¼ X 4¼) plate at F 8. So I am pretty well supplied now. I am buying a new shutter of the roller blind type, speeded from I see. to say 1/50th see. for which I will pay up to £1/-/-, and then I will have some outfit. My present shutter, has only from 1/15 see, to 1/90 see, and is rather out of repair, spoiling a couple of plates for me lately. I will make quite sufficient on my pictures, to pay for the whole blooming outfit. In fact, I think I have done so already.

I want to get up to London to see Bobbie and am trying to get up on duty, so I will be there over night. I almost made it for to-morrow, but it has fallen thro. I will make it during the next couple of weeks tho, as I have pretty good pull here, with some of them. I hope there is a raid the night I am there, as I am very anxious to see one. They say that the barrage, our batteries put up, is really wonderful. This kind of stuff is really worth taking a chance to see.

I am starting to take a few pictures of the boys, and will make a little more out of that.

Your loving brother,
Worth.
