Dear Mother and All,

Well here it is Wednesday again, the time surely flies, all we do is work and sleep, it seems.

I am glad to say that Jonas Sinden is very much better. Pleurisy set in, and they aspirated, taking off fully a quart. He is sure glad it is over, and is very bright. I read your clippings last night and took them in to him this morning. That is one good thing about our billet, we can burn our lights as long as we wish to.

Gilbert Gaskel and Money, were in to see me at noon. They go to the London Pay Office this week, to-day in fact. I see Guy Hicks every day, for at least a few minutes.

I am sending Nert three books, I wish she would see that Floss gets them. I am sorry they are delayed, but I will explain the delay later to her.

I am very glad Uncle Oli is feeling better. I must write him but really it keeps me pretty busy writing as it is.

My cold is keeping just about the same, but I do not feel tough at all now. Everybody seems to have one here.

Under a new order, we have to “fall in” at bugle call for dinner and tea, and are marched to the mess, under a police guard. It is getting fine, just like a regular prison. We still get very good food, in fact it is excellent and all we want, but I hear we are going to be cut down and get regular army rations, I don’t know how true it is tho. I don’t see the paper very often, and really get more war news from your clippings, than any other way.

There are still only two of us on the ward, and we are very busy. I want to get up to London at New Year’s but am not sure I will be able to make it. I was down town last night for a walk and went to bed rather early Monday night, I attended Masonic Lodge, here (Sandgate), it was nice to get out for a change.

Really I have not much to tell you on this week, and want to write Mrs. Thomson and Gert, to-night.

You never said whether or not, my rubber stamp had been sent. The parcel containing it, should arrive safely anyway.
