Letter

Minister of Natural Resources
Regina, Saskatchewan,
September 17, 1965.

Mr. Leonard Neufeld,
NIPAWIN, Saskatchewan.

Dear Mr. Neufeld:

It is our practice to name lakes, islands, bays and other geographical features in Saskatchewan after servicemen who gave their lives during the Second World War and also after individuals who made significant contribution to the development of the Province.

I am pleased to advise that "Neufeld Bay" in the Lac La Ronge district was named in memory of your valiant brother and also honours the work of your pioneer parents.

As indicated by the enclosed map and aerial photograph "Neufeld Bay" is a l½ mile long feature and is situated among Saskatchewan's finest scenic and sport fishing areas. The name was adopted by the Canadian Permanent Committee on Geographical Names, Ottawa, on September 8, 1965.

The name will be published on future revised issues of the Lac La Ronge map as a memorial for all time to the services of your valiant brother and the work of your father in the development of agriculture in the Nipawin district.

Yours very truly,
[signature]
J.M. Cuelenaere, Q.C.,
Minister of Natural Resources.
