Dear Moo & Dusty:

Many thanks, my dears, for your second Xmas parcel, which I received quite safely: -- it certainly means a hell of a lot to me & I hope to get down & see Carol with a big Xmas parcel, made up of your presents, & mine. I had hoped to have received Mum, Phyl & Vern's, by now, but no luck, so I'll have to mail them to Carol.

You see, I've a spot of leave in the near future & I have to take it before Xmas so I hope to see Carol. I'm going to Brighton for a few days to see Peggy & I'll pop over to Portsmouth from there. Then I hope to go to the Crown for a couple of days & then on up to Peterborough & see our long lost cousin Gladys Bright Rogers. Strange enough I rec'd a wire this aft., inviting me for the week-end of 16-17 Dec. So I'll take advantage of it, I think.

How are all you little people? Well & happy I hope -- & full of the joys of living. I sincerely hope Santa is good to you all. I asked Vern to buy my presents for you & send them down to you, as I can't get anything over here but books, without coupons, & I'm afraid my stock of coupons is very low & still have 6 months to go before a new issue.

I told you my divorce action was delayed, because the co/respondent was transferred to Trincomalee, a Naval Base in Ceylon. It's most amazing, but at least I'm getting a spot of leave now, & by the time my case comes up, I'll be due for another one, I expect.

Carol, I think, is with my in-laws, for the [two indecipherable words]
has advised me that she is well-cared for & looked after; I've heard nothing from them at all -- so can't give you any news of the latest offspring of my wife!

Ah well, my dears, once again many thanks for your lovely parcels -- and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas & a Happy, Happy New Year--Tons of love to you all, with a big kiss to Janet & Sue,

Your affectionate brother

Dicky
