Some Where in Flanders
April 11th 1916
Dear Cousin
Just two days ago, I got your ever welcome letter, somehow it always puts new life into me I am glad to know you still visit my dear sweet Grace, I got her big letter alright, and the snaps their was one of her laying on the veranda, I took it to be Norma, lucky she put on the back who it was.
So you think Gracie’s real beau is not in Belgium, takes red hair to catch the girls eye, think I will dye mine, and poor old Norma, I dont think Grace gives her a fair show.
Was I telling you, I got a letter from Lizzie Nelson, she will be lonely if Ethel goes and does the trick, who did Kirbys have you married to.
Say their is a lot of girls getting married.
Some people think the Germans will soon be licked, but if those people were in the front line one day they would change their minds smartly.
I have not heard from Muriel for a while but the Belgium wife is fine ha ha. Say the French, Belgium and English girls, are not in it with the Canadain girls, not half so sweet or good looking, me for the Canadain girl.
I hope you have a good time at Kirby dance, wish I could come.
I got a letter from Aunt Maggie the other day, also from your darling. Now Essie, tell the truth you miss him, for I know you love him.
I got a letter from Aunt Tina and I must answer it so I will have to close, also I must write to curly curls, say she did ask me for a picture I have lots so I will oblige her. So bye bye, with love
from
Nelson
xxxxxxxx you and I wont get many now.
