#10169 Private H.C. Sproule. (Deceased)

Sir,-

Receipt of your communication of the 8th instant is acknowledged, and in reply I beg to inform you that according to records at Militia Headquarters, the marginally noted deceased soldier was entitled to receive the 1914-15 Star. He would also appear to be entitled to the British War and Victory Medals.

Information is being sought as to the person legally entitled to receive the awards in respect of the late Private Sproule, and upon receipt of a report, the Star will be despatched to the person named therein.

Memoranda respecting the British War and Victory Medals and the Memorial Plaque and Scroll are enclosed. These medals and memorials are not yet available for issue and are not expected to come forward from the War Office for some time. Upon receipt, however, distribution will be made, without evitable delay, to persons found to be entitled thereto.

A memorandum respecting the Memorial Cross is also enclosed for your further information.
