Dear Mr. Irwin

I received your very kind and welcome letter and was very glad to hear that you were keeping well, and that you were having such great times around Norwood

It must be fine to have a body of soldiers in your midst I am pleased to say I am keeping fit and fine and expect we will be going over seas at an early date. I will be nice to have a change of scenery and see more what the world is like at this busy time, but probably when we get there we will quieten things. I am very sorry I did not reply to your letter before but I was very busy with my Exims. I may likely have a look round your bay, perhaps sometime next week but I will drop you a card before I come I am pleased to tell you that I am getting promoted soon and trust that I shall have success in every venture. Kindly remember me to all the Boys of the League and I hope they are all keeping well. Give my kind regards to all Mrs. Irwin and the Boys I have finished school and Pte Doxiee is giving in now I have seen the adjutant about getting a transfer to the 93rd. Peterborough but he told me I could not get one now and I would like you kindly to see Capt. Nelson and find out if he could do anything in the matter, as I would like to get with the Norwood boys. it would be best if you would kindly see him as soon as possible as I think the time will be short. With kind regards to all I remain

Yours Sincerely
