July 30th 1917
Dear Bro :- Received your ever welcomed letter dated June 29th and very glad to hear from you that you all are well and in good spirits. I also recevied the parcel on the 27th. the cake was very good, only it was too sweet. I always like something plain. I just got back from leave and had a good time. I sent two letters from London, just let me know if you get them, in one was the photo of myself and another fellow which I knocked around with. I just wished Henry were with me at the time, he would of enjoyed it well. Teddy Leake has been wounded, I wonder what battalion he is in at present. I didn’t know it until you told me about it. I will now close. With love. Your Brother, Wesley.
