Dear Mrs. Addison

First of all I would like to thank both you & the staff of Humewood Public School for the swell Xmas gift I received from you. It is very gratifying to know that the old school has not forgotten the fellows from past years. Although it is quite a while since I attended the school I can still remember some of the good times we had there. I suppose most of the old teachers have gone now into the services or transferred to other schools. There might be some still there & would you please give them my regards.

It is hard to say how much appreciated parcels are from home. Believe me when I say that after two years from Canada anything with Canada stamped on it really looks nice. Over here they know that there is a war & rationing is really strict & coupons are required for nearly everything that one buys. Since these forms aren’t so big I guess I will have to sign off.

Once again I want to thank you & all the people responsible for the swell Xmas boxes & may I wish you all a Very Happy New Year & a Victorious one.

Yours sincerely

w/o2 B. Stevens
