Dear Mr.Trusler:

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you and the members of the school for the spendid christmas box you had sent to me.

Its very kind of you to remember me and go to the trouble of packing & sending if off and I want you to know that it is greatly appreciated.

I spent Christmas in Holland and it was the first white Christmas I’d seen since I left home over five years ago.

I’ve been on the continent since Dec 4[?] and apart from the odd leave and bad weather period we have been hard at it in hopes that we would have the whole affair over by Christmas but unfortunately we didn’t quite make it.

In closing I’ll thank you once again and I hope my letter finds you all at home in the best of health.

I remain

Yours sincerely

Frank C. Johnson
