LEAVE WITHOUT TEARS.
(Published under authority).

On arrival at VICTORIA STATION your best way home is as follows:-

A. IF YOUR TRAIN ARRIVES AT VICTORIA BEFORE 2300 HRS.
(i) Those for LONDON and district, and those leaving LONDON from LIVERPOOL STREET, PADDINGTON or by SOUTHERN RAILWAY STATIONS go by Underground or other L.P.T.B. service.
(ii). Those leaving London from EUSTON, ST. PANCRAS or KINGS CROSS go by special buses from VICTORIA.
(iii) Those for NORTHERN IRELAND, EIRE or SCOTTISH ISLES will proceed by Underground to SLOANE SQUARE for LONDON DISTRICT RECEPTION DEPOT, DUKE OF YORK'S HEADQUARTERS, KINGS ROAD, CHELSEA, S.W.3. (MEN) or by Underground to GOODGE STREET for LONDON DISTRICT TRANSIT CAMP, WARWICKSHIRE HOUSE, GOWER STREET, W.1. (WOMEN).

B. IF YOUR TRAIN ARRIVES AT VICTORIA AFTER 2300 HRS.
(i) Those for LONDON and district too late to make their way home will be accommodated in nearby hostels, the VICTORIA Canteen and Rest Rooms, if they apply to the R.T.O. Victoria.
(ii) Those leaving London from WATERLOO, PADDINGTON, EUSTON, ST. PANCRAS, KINGS CROSS and LIVERPOOL STREET by special buses to their stations, where they will be accommodated in nearby hostels, station canteens and Rest Rooms, if they apply to the R.T.O.
(iii) Those for NORTHERN IRELAND, EIRE or SCOTTISH ISLES should go by special transport provided to (for MEN) LONDON DISTRICT RECEPTION DEPOT, DUKE OF YORKS HEADQUARTERS, KINGS ROAD, CHELSEA, S.W.3 of (for WOMEN) to LONDON DISTRICT TRANSIT CAMP, WARWICKSHIRE HOUSE, GOWER STREET, W.1. where there will be a hot meal ready.

2. On arriving at your departure station go to the R.T.O. who will tell you the time at which your train departs and will find you a seat on it, or will find you a bed in a hostel if you want one.
If you are held up because there is no onward train there will be no charge for your bed.

3. OFFICERS may follow the above procedure, or may make their own arrangements, or may if they wish, be accommodated at the LION CLUB, LYGON PLACE, GROSVENOR GARDENS (close to Victoria). A small charge is made for this accommodation. The SHOW HOUSE at KINGS CROSS can also take a few officers departing from Northern termini, and application for accommodation must be made to the R.T.O. KINGS CROSS.

WHILST ON LEAVE.

4. READ THE PAPERS AND LISTEN TO THE B.B.C. NEWS, because you may learn that your return must be delayed 24 hours or more.
Make a careful note of the number of your leave party stamped on your Leave ticket. 

5. Always carry your identity documents, A.F. B. 2606, or A.B. 64 and Leave Pass.

6. If you fall sick comply with the instructions on the back of your Leave Pass, and send a medical certificate to your Officer i/c Records.

7. If you require advice or assistance on domestic matters consult The Soldiers’, Sailors’ & Airmen’s Families Association, whose address you can obtain from a Police Station or Post Office.
In other matters consult a Welfare Officer, whose address can be obtained from the nearest military unit.

EXTENSIONS OF LEAVE.

8. If your leave is extended it may mean that others cannot come on leave.
Extensions will therefore only be considered on extreme compassionate grounds connected with the death or dangerous illness of parent, wife, husband or child. It will NOT be granted for business purposes or for marriage.

9. Officers including those of Women’s Services, will apply to the War Office (A.G.4.a.) 25, Eaton Square, S.W.1.

10. Other Ranks including Women’s Services, will apply to the H.Q. of the sub-district in which they are living. The address can be obtained from the nearest military unit.
Those living in LONDON should apply to D.A.A.G. (Leave), London District, No. 1 Morpeth Mansions, Morpeth Terrace, London. S.W.1. (situated close to Westminster Cathedral).

RETURN.

11. At the end of your leave obey carefully the instructions which have been stamped on your leave Pass. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action.
The time at which you are ordered to report has been made as late as possible. Do not be late yourself.
It is your duty to get back on time. You should therefore allow plenty of time to catch your connections. If however, your train is very late, go to the R.T.O. on the spot and he will give you a certificate to attach to your leave ticket. Hand this in when you get back to your unit.

12. If you are reporting to the London District Leave Camp, Regents Park Barracks, you can take the Underground or bus to Great Portland Street Station. The No. 59 bus passes the door.

13. DISPOSAL OF YOUR COMBINED PASS AND TRAVEL TICKET.
Read carefully the instructions on your combined leave pass and railway ticket.
Parts III, IV and V only must be given up to the railway company office officials.
Parts II and VI are collected by Movement Control.
You must keep the cover and leave pass (Part VII) and hand them in on return to your unit.
