Dearest family

Did not sleep very good last night had a French man cut my hair and shave me this morning, washed myself of seven days was taken to the M [Dr.s?] and will stay a while at Hospital this big peb will have four dressings a day wish it would keep me for some time had a hot dressing put on this morning hope I can stay out untill my teeth are made, this town is the best we have been in since joing the 1st.

Well I am at another mile stone of life am old enough to know better hope I can help untill. M. is just as old, no mail came last night but may tonight I forgot to tell Freds a parcel makes a dandy change of eats I am sorry I did not see that parcel was yours it was very fine cooking thoes little cakes were extra fine I don’t think any person could beat them I know the Xmas one can’t, I am glad it came O.K I take my kit etc up to the H at 1oclock with another man it is about 1230 now will write to the boys and girls soon we are here to unload cars it is not a school will have to go to school sometime soon after we come out this next time going to the H may keep me out this time will close with lots of kisses and hugs
