Dearest Dad & Mother & Family;

Here I am once more and not gone yet but it won't be long now. I received your swell letter the other day Dad and sure was pleased to hear from you won't it be swell in a little while we won't have to write we'll be able to talk to each other. I can hardly believe it. I guess you think it's fun that I am not on my way already but as you know I don't go back on a troopship and the strike they had here delayed us. But there going back now and we were told this morning that we'd be on the boat Friday but I don't want you to depend on that as something may happen again so we'll keep our fingers crossed, once more. I also received a swell letter from Helen S and I hear her Sis had an operation on appendix and I do hope she is well by now. As for work I'm not doing a thing I'm in bed fast asleep by 8:30 at night so you see I should be all rested up. Well I must go now best of everything to all.

From you Son & Bro who loves you all

dearly .... Louis xxxxxxxxxxx
