Same place, Apr 27/18

My dear Fern:

This morning I received the first Canadian mail I have had for nearly three weeks, One from the Church & m[?] you. Yours was 65 written Mar 31. I have not yet received 63 or it may come in this afternoon.

Your letter 65 is the first I have received after you heard from the War Office. You appear to think that I am at the very least disabled for a couple of years. I am very sorry to disappoint you. You speak about the time I cut my cheek on the wine glass. This just balances that, same place other size - Heres me

Y = Y shaped scar completely spoiling said beauty.

P.S. Face slightly magnified and hair parted on wrong side

Thanks old kid for the l[?] cake you are sending. I hasn't come in yet but I am dieting in anticipation. Two Posts & a s[?] last night thanks awfully.

Very sorry but I can't swing leave on this "wound" as you suggest. Couldn't even get a Blighty on it. I am just as good as new again and have even done better in the way of Huns since I have been back than I did the previous four months although w[?] bag is pretty small yet.
We had a guest night last night and a fine time. Had a band in and a peach of a dinner and lots of phizz of which I partook not. Got to bed about the morning.

I am awfully sorry to hear about Clive Mitchels mother. Remember me to him if you see him.

Love to all

Gord
