My dear Sister.

I am just matching a few seconds to write you this short note. You will see that I'm in the land of the living as far. We have [?] having a lively time of it and we hope to be out for a rest soon.

I hav'ent heard from Alick since I left England so I don't know where his regiment is stationed. I have sent him half a dozen field PC,s with out a reply.

I'm enclosing a couple of snaps which I took with my chums before I left England. The tall fellow in the middle of both photos has been killed you know (Somewhere in France) he comes from Edinburgh the one on the left from Newcastle

I'll write you a longer letter when I get back to our billet all the Uist fellows are safe as far as I know.

[?] and drop me a line as often as you can. And with my best regards each and all

From your affec Brother
