Dear Mother

I hope you are all quite well. Thank you very much for the Wool, I have finished my Sweater now it look pretty good too, & is very warm. We are having rather mild weather just now, but very dull, I think it is much colder here than it is in England I had a nice bright Letter from maggie yesterday they seem to be doing pretty well there now. xmas will soon be here now I hope that you will have a good one. I only wish I could be at Home to spend it with you.

I havent seen Billy canon of course he is in one of the other Blocks, & we dont very often see an of them in this Block. How is Mr Arlande now I hope that he is in good Health does he ever come to see you now it is just getting dark now & the Lamps have not been turned on yet, it seem to get dark awful early here, the das are very short.. I am not doing any knitting just now, I am taking a rest, & am studing French.

I havent any news at all things are very slow here. Give my love to them all at Home Emmy & Joan your loving Son
