Dear Mother,

I received two letters from you this past week, posted May 16th and June 8th respectively.

There was letter from Bessie enclosed in each which were very interesting. She certainly writes a good letter but has a tendency to spread her writing out too much. She would be a good writer if it were not for that.

I wrote Sydney in time for his birthday but did not get any answer yet. I am afraid his mail will be delayed at Shorncliffe.

Saw Frank the other day. He was happy as a clam, skimming along on his government wheel.
