Dear Mother:-

I guess you will be waiting to get a letter. I have received two letters, two Jack Canucks & a Winnipeg Post since I wrote you last, also Aunt Jessie's parcel, it sure was a dandy.

You will be surprised to hear Jack is back to his company & has been in the trenches the last few days.

Was Frank in that riot? There seems to be discontent where soldiers are. We have received a lot of new men lately. The most of them are from the 'Peg. Is Uncle Arthur in the 90th Battalion or the 90th Winnipeg Rifles?

I haven't heard from the old man lately. I guess he is O.K. I suppose I will be transferred soon.

Well Mother I think I'll close now. Say I sure would like to get a photo of you etc. Jack just showed me your picture we had taken. It's the first time I've seen it since we left England. I had one but I lost it purse & all.

Your loving son
