Dear Jack,

Xmas Eve, so Season's Greetings. Had a letter from Mother today enclosing an old one of Arthur's which I forward to you. I expect you will have a good Xmas as far as circumstances will allow.

Received a letter from Grandpa in Massachusetts with all good wishes, also stating that they intended sending parcels to all of us but could not for customs reasons but Ethel is going up to Montreal when she visits there at Xmas and will send them from there.

Well, I am back with my unit again after two months at Deal. It begins to look like we are never going to get out. I suppose you are still in winter quarters and likely to remain for some time.

Send this letter on to Sydney, that is Arthur's letter I mean.

Good luck, old socks.
