HMS Indomitable

April 29, 1943

Dear Dad:

Pictures and some of the history of this ship were published today and no doubt you are taking a keen interest.

Captain Grantham C.B.D.S.O. is the skipper and we also carry Vice Admiral Lyster who is admiral in charge Aircraft Carriers Home Fleet or V.A.A.H.F.

Vice Admiral Lyster was my captain in Glorious before the war and he is a very experienced carrier man.

Indomitable is a very fine carrier and of course being the Flagship we are the No. 1 carrier afloat - your son Willy being the senior fighter pilot.

Captain of Indomitable last year during the Malta convoy trip in August was Captain Troubridge, a direct descendant of one of Nelson's Captains and now a D.S.O. and a Rear Admiral.

You will no doubt see some pictures of our fighter pilots. They are a fine lot.

Love

Bill
