Dear Jack:-

Was so pleased to receive your very welcome registered letter. Although I was not broke I was badly bent.

You will be surprised that I am marked out and expect to leave here about Monday the 11th. I have put down my leave for Dublin in order to get two days extra. I think Liverpool will be as far as I shall get.

I visited Groses last Saturday. Both the girls were out, but Doris came in time for supper but Mina is touring London with her fiancé who is on leave.

Well I guess Dad will have some blowout in Nice. He couldn't go to a better place for a good time, at least that is my experience.

I haven't heard from Frank for a week or so, but according to your letter he is O.K.

By the way, do you know McLennehan who used to be a bugler in the battalion? He is here, expects to leave for Canada as he is B(iii). By the way, I'm D(i) so will have to go to some command depot for 6 weeks for physical training.

Well Jack remember me to Bert Fleming and Norman, Red & Charlie, four good scouts, also McElheren & Judge if you see them.
