Dear Dad.
Your letter arrived O.K. but as you said [?] movements were uncertain I did not [?] it until I received your telegram to-day.
I have carried on your business here with fair success. One of the cheques had arrived and I am waiting for the other (which should come to-morrow. I will deposit both.
From your letter I should judge that my lengthy epistle describing the details of the Cobourg business has somehow failed to connect with you. However no much harm has been done by that or if is all ancient history now. I got my warning from the [?] yesterday advising me to report at Cobourg not later [?] Feb 26th so it would appear that everything has worked out alright. I consider that I have so far been exceptionally fortunate in this affair but that which followed was more welcome still.
The admiralty having no ships at their disposal just no are unable to transport Scot overseas for some two or three weeks and so he has returned to Toronto and is staying here with me!
As the whole matter has worked iself out better than could have been expected or even hoped. Of course there is no overseas appointment in sight but that will come and I can afford to wait. At any rate the training is coming at an excellent time of the year and I expect will do me a world of good. Things are going very well indeed here.
Terry.
