Dear Emma,

Yours of Oct 18th to hand. I just received a letter and photo from Jack. He looks well, tells me he has the splints off, says he moves his fingers all right, so looks for a full recovery.

As to the Sat. Posts, I do not receive them very regularly, as they may go to an imperial No. 3 C.C.S. The question is, do they forward them, but I gave you the proper address, which I will repeat on the back of this letter.

Syd seems in good health and spirits, looking forward to a few days leave. Hope I shall be able to get away at the same time, so if Frank arrives we will all meet in England. Of course this is all in the air as yet, but that is out hope. I hear Frank was and perhaps is yet at Cape Breton awaiting a ship.

I hear one of our pictures were in one of the Winnipeg papers. Send a copy if you have one to spare; in fact an occasional Winnipeg paper would be acceptable. I have not had the Tribune since I have been in France, who I wrote them twice. If you could send, say, the Free Press Weekly Edition it would help. With the daily you receive a number of them at once, whereas a weekly would come more regularly.

About having a photo taken, that is a little hard to do. Cameras are taboo, and the professionals' work is poor and dear. If the London meeting comes off we will send you a group photo. If circumstances permitted could send you a sprig of holly for the Xmas pudding. Quite a little grows around here.

Bessy has grown, according to her latest photo. I will hardly know her. And yourself, you look well. Do you ever see the little baby now? How is our lady artist? I met Jerry Lewis, he was in the same corps for a while and he told me a little news about the Wilsons. Have had no letters from Bessie or Philip yet. I suppose they are too busy.

Well, Xmas isnot very far off now, then winter, and I hope the end of the war next summer. Has Arthur's battalion gone overseas yet? What is it, the 79th? Write a newsy letter soon.
