Dear Mother:-

I returned to my battalion last night for good. I have seen Syd, he is looking all right. Dad is not very far away so I expect I shall be able to see him before long. I expect to go into the trenches tonight.

The weather is pretty warm. I have seen quite a lot of the old fellows that are on staff jobs.

Well dear I'll give you another letter next week.
