Mousty Belgium March 5/1919 My Dear Father I was glad to learn from your latest letter that you where so interested in "Waterloo" and only wish that you had been able to visit it as it is full of historical interest for anyone. The Mild winter in Canada is certainly a great surprise & it would be fine if only it always continued the same. I also had the pleasure of receiving another parcel Father but I really think it is quite unnecessary to send any more as things are becoming much cheaper & easier to get now. It is very nice to know that Mayor Church is proving so popular & taking such a very keen interest in the returned soldiers affairs. "Peace River" seems to be a very popular with everybody. And if possible I will try & take my allotment of land up there if only from an investment view point. I am finding it very difficult to make a decision as to what I shall do when I eventually get back Father. At the worst "Andy Milne" has offered me the old job back again. I suppose work is very scarce in Toronto this winter & plenty of unemployed about. I do not know how these Belgians manage to live as the large majority of them have had no employment since we have been in here but somehow they all have plenty of money. Ralph is expecting to back to Canada to straighten up his affairs out "West" before returning to England where he is starting up in the farming with his younger brother. I am hoping he will be able to spend a short time in Toronto. Ralph has extended an invitation to almost half the boys from the Battery going on leave to spend it at his home in "Finchley" a suburb of London. And all who have accepted like myself have thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I hope Father you will have the pleasure of meeting "Herb" Graham before long. And tell him both Daftes & I are continuing well. The Flu is raging again over here and many people are ill with it great numbers succumbing to it also. It is hoped you are not having another outbreak in Canada at the same time. We are having plenty of rain but can afford to laugh at it now. We are still kept quite busy as we have not yet lost any equipment & have plenty of guards as [?] to do. Hoping you Violet & Bill are all continuing in the best of health as is your own humble son Father. With Kindest Love Regards & wishes Your Ever devoted Son Arthur
