Jan 14-1916 My Dear Aunt Sahra Please excuse the briefness of this note in reply to your kind & ever welcome letter. We are very busy preparing for our journey to France to-morrow. There seems to be a lot of work to do yet, before we leave. We are all feeling quite pleased at the results of our training at Salisbury plains. The report from the London War Office states that we are the best Artillery that has been trained during the year 1915. We are keenly looking forward to the time now when we can really be doing something. By the reports of the men who have returned the conditions are very rough again this winter at the front. By the time this reaches you I guess we shall be there so if you will make a note of this address as the censor scratches them out I think it will always find me #91239 A.J. Teer 21st Batter C.F.A 6th Howitzer Brigade C.E.J. c/o Army Post Office London. Hoping you all are in the best of Health & spirits & that you will remember me to all. With kindest regards & wishes your loving nephew Arthur
