Bramshott Camp Oct 22/15 Dear Mother, Well here we are been two days in camp and a little more settled that we were a day ago. We spend yesterday cleaning up our rooms. And they feel a little better now All ours are in the same room now. The first night we landed here we hadn't any mattress and only one blanket and had not any first in the store. Yesterday we got new mattresses and filled them with fresh straw and got an extra blanket. We are not sure whether we are going to Shorncliffe or not. The officers do not know whether we are going saty or not. We went down to a place called Haselmere last night about three miles off for a good meal but when we got down there all the stores were closed on account off a half holiday; so we [?] to another town to-night the other direction and got a good supper of bacon and eggs It has been raining nearly all afternoon and is still raining this evening. We did not go out on drill this afternoon but got our water bottles. The villages out here are not not very far apart and very hilly country. The fields look nice all fenced off by hedges and stone fences. The grass green all year round and roses in bloom now. the houses look very old fashioned with ivy growing all around over them. There is certainly some large trees here and very high. All the roads are paved or hard stone and high hedges on each side. I never see very many horses around camp all the work is done by steam engines. You see an odd horse on a two wheeled cart. It is certainly a large camp and room for lots more soldiers. They say that he hits were made by German prisoners. There is a soldiers rest here, a reading, recreation and bathing room and the Salvation Army have a restaurant service They serve meals. Each regiment have there cook here
