Hello Donny,

Happy New Year! I just received your parcel today and the loaf of bread was still fresh. You're a very clever person and someday you should be President of the U.S.A.

I haven't time to write much but have time to wish you all the best. I'm going out to celebrate tonight - it's New Year's eve. I wish it were one of our old time parties. I'd bring a bottle of gin.

I'm going on a long trip tomorrow and you mightn't hear from me for a while but don't worry. I'll cable as soon as I get there. Thanks again.
