Dear Mr Reid

This letter will extend to you my deepest sympathy in the loss of your son. Srgt. D.D. Reid, who was killed in action on Nov 1st.

He was in my Company and also in my platoon and a finer boy ever lived.

He died like a hero doing his duty and is mourned by us all. Both officers and men as a beloved Comrade.
