My Dear Jessie:

How is everything going in Musq tonight; suppose you are about getting ready for lunch at this time, it is about dark and I am in the Y M CA writing this; I would sure like to be home getting ready for church with you I would certainly enjoy one of Mr. MacIntoshs sermons now, I have'nt been inside a church for a servise since I left Can. but of course we have church service every Sunday we are out of the line. We are having great weather these days in fact we have had all summer, they certainly named France right when they said named it Sunny France!

I am still at the school and expect to be for a few days yet: have had quite a nice time while I have been here, much better than the frontline. The Battn is still out of the line and boys from home are jake.

We had quite a bit of excitement here the other day. Our observation baloon's were up and the hun not wishing to leave them there came over in his plane and after a little bit of scraping, put it down; the plane then circle around over the Y.MCA quite low; our anti-air-craft guns opened up on him but did not get him, when our air-plane went after him and put him down; a pretty daring luck for Fritzy!

Suppose you are having a fun in your spare time with the car-you drive it don't you? You must get lots of drives according to what you say about your close neighbors.

I always intended asking you about one of those snaps you sent me (the one where you were on your to [?] to meet Father), question: was that our mare or [? mills]; Don and I both thought it looked like his.

Suppose you are still playing tennis, I just came in from a little of baseball, going some alright when Norma H and Grace get out playing tennis; they have got a little chance that that Sade is gone. Well I think this is all I have to write for you this time dear. Love to father and Gow.

Loving bro Spence
