My Dear Father:
Just a few lines this a.m. to let you I am still O.K. I wrote to Jessie a few days ago.
There is not very much to write about.
How is Sadie? I must write to her some of these days Its so long since I heard from her that I forget her address I wish you would send it to me.
Well what do you think of the war now? the Germans are getting it on the neck at all points and I guess he will be getting pretty sick before long we have the right man in the right place now he won't give old Heinie much rest
I wrote to Ken a few days ago. I don't know whether he will answer it or not its so long since I heard from him.
I suppose John is working as hard as ever. Is Matt Higgins still driving the mail to Moose River? I suppose he is he would not be very much good for anything else now being at it so long.
I suppose Capt Burrin would take Dougs death pretty hard.
I saw the two Farnell boys a couple of days ago. the younger fellow is as fat as ever. Norm never was so fat. both are looking well.
How is Bob Guild getting along? Mr Bentley must have it pretty hard with out Harold he is in Eng I had a letter from him a few days ago. he says he is having a good time. he will find it a little different when he gets over here which I hope will be quite a while yet. I voted for conscription but it was just to get some of those fellows who were lying around doing nothing and should have been here long ago. and that was the only way to get them on this side of the water
The Canadian Corp is not very large but it has sure played a large part in this war.
Well it no use for me to write you this kind of dope. I will now ring off for this time
With Lots of Love to all as ever
Aff Son Don
