My Dearest
There is not much time to write a letter, it is almost post time, but thought I would just send a little note to say that I am still here. We have only just come in, another "Canada" & I have been out all afternoon. We went for a long walk by the side of the Thames.
Dearest I did wish you were with me, it has been such a lovely sunshiny day & you & I could have had such a lovely afternoon together. I am beginning to think that Reading is not such a bad place after all, when you get to know the way around. But you know Dearest there is a town in Yorkshire that has more attractions for me just now, & I think it was awful mean of them not to send me to a hospital near Doncaster instead of to this one.
The doctor has not told me when I am to leave here, but I am almost sure to go in a few days.
I have not heard from Mother since I wrote last Tues. she ought to have written before this, I wonder what she will think about it. Well Dearest I must stop for the present, hoping there will be one of your precious letters for me in the morning.
Oh I do hope it won't be long before I get that leave, Dearest you don't know how I am longing to see you.
Good night My Darling
Lots & lots & lots of love & xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
from Yours only & forever
Fred
