My Dearest

So many thanks for your dear letter, of course now you may be at Basingstoke, I hope you like it.

Millie returned last night, she had not found a suitable place in York but she has several friends looking out for her, her thoughts still wander to Hull.

Jack does not think he will be able to come for Christmas, he thinks they may not have any holiday with losing so many days work over the strike. It will not be necessary Dearest to have a "best man" at a quiet wedding like ours will be. I certainly would not like any fuss. It would put me out completely also it is very bad form in these time but you would not mind just our own people, would you? I do not mean cousins & Aunts & Uncles. I could not bear anything in the way of veils & trains & all that kind of thing at anytime.

The frost has given today & the ground is as wet as though we had a lot of rain, my fingers are getting to look like tomato sausages with chilblaines, I am quite annoyed with them.

Dearest I left this letter last night, now I have just rec. your dear letter from your new hospital.

The weather is quite warm today. I am at the office now so have not much opportunity for writing but will write again very soon.

I am so pleased you are feeling alright.

I am longing for you to come home.
