My darling girl

I received your welcome letter of April 19th last night, & was very pleased to learn that you had secured a cottage in Gwernaffield & hope you will find it clean & comfortable, but what in thunder you'll do with two pianos beats me, it will also be so nice to be near Will & Eunice.

About the tuck box, forget about it dear, these chaps are getting their parcels from Canada, didn't think about it at the time, you wont have anything to spare to send over here, besides we I consider feed better over here than you do in England, so dont bother about any tuck box.

We go back into the line tomorrow & as I explained before it is almost impossible to get letters away, so dont worry if you get no letters for a week, if possible will send you a Field Service Post Card.

Havn't seen Dick [Waller] since that time I told you about last, & havn't seen any of the 161st Officers since I joined the Battn. I was the only one of the 161st Battn to join the 1st Division the majority went to the 4th Div.

Your letters are coming very regularly now, so keep up the good work.
Fondest love to you & kiddies.

Your loving,

Jim
