My darling wife,

Got your letter, with Franks & Gwladys' [sic] enclosed, & am going to answer all three right away. We are having very enjoyable weather just now, in fact a regular Indian Summer. We received a draft of 500 men a few days ago which is going to keep us busy until they go away, I understand also that Cummings & other Miniota boys have arrived but they are attached to the 30th Battalion quite close to hear [sic] & I intend looking them up as soon as I get time. Am wondering whether I will receive a cablegram during the next few days, in answer to my letter re you coming over. It was rather interesting last night, several of us went to a Picture show in Folkestone where they put on Moving Pictures of our fellows which were taken on the boat & also at Queenstown, they were exceptionally good & we are all quite recognisable, no doubt they will be shown in Canada before very long & if you get a chance it would be worth your while going to see them. The 2nd Division are now on the move & I expect before the end of the week they will be all over in France, several of our old 32nd Officers have been over on a week's leave from France lately, things have been very quiet on their line for the last two months, but they expect there will be something doing very shortly. I do hope that Ciss & Blodwen will be successful getting into a hospital, it would be fine if they could get together, did you ever write to Virden, as I asked you to some time ago? am very pleased to hear that Myfanwy passed her exam all O.K. & that she will be going to Normal, she will be all O.K. after she's been through there.

I suppose the event you spoke of some time ago at Gla's will have come off by this, I hope everything passed off O.K., it would be rather amusing if it was a boy, I wouldn't have anything on Jack then, he hinted to me in his letter some time ago that he would have me beaten in the family line if I didn't get home soon, told him he had to catch up before he talked of beating me didn't pretend I knew anything.

I hope you got the presents for the kiddies all O.K.

Well darling am feeling quite anxious to know what you have decided to do, whichever it is shall feel quite reconciled as I know you will do what is best. I often dream about you dearie, & the little ones, and the dreams you can bet are very heavnly [sic]. Love to David, Annie & their little one, fondest love to Eric, Gwladys, Frank & your darling sweet self.

Yours lovingly,

Jim
