Dear Sister

just a few lines hoping this will find you quite well you must excuse me for not writing before i really don't know what to say you have my deepest sympathy i know just how you will feel, if there is anything i can do for you write and let me know. you will have received all [?] from jack Groch and charlie Parrit. i did not even get to see herb that was the worst blow. he was dead and wrapped up before i knew anything had happened. there were two parties send out one in the afternoon and one at night. herb was with the one party and i was with the other they ought never to have separated us. herb was buried in the cemetery here there is some [?] knowing he was decently buried. i got those chocolates and two letters of Herbs. i took the liberty of reading the letters i thought there might be something i could do or get for you if at anytime you want anything let me know and don't bother about sending the money. i will only be too pleased to do anything i can for you i got the quarter you send in Charlie's box and i understand from what he told me that it was for a card for someone i am sending in the card. i was glad to read that your mother and Edith was returning to Canada i am sure you will not feel so lonely and i sure it will be a great comfort to you to have them back. this may seem a strange letter but you must excuse me i really don't know what to write. if anytime you need anything for you be sure and let me know. i will close now goodbye and God bless and comfort you.
