Dear Father,
Just my usual to let know I am in the "pink". Trusting this finds you all the same at home. The weather is very good now, as summer is almost here. We have had very little rain. I had a letter from Aunt Nellie this week. I told her to keep those socks and I would get them the next time I was in Scotland, as I do not need them now. If I need them I will let her know and she will send them on. She sent me Peter Meek's address. He is in the Camerons, but I will not likely meet him out here. I have not had a letter from Archie for some time. I suppose he is getting ready to sail to Canada, as it is some time since he left hospital. Well, I must close as I have nothing to say. There is very little to write about out here though I suppose you at home think we have all the news. But we only see what goes on in our own district. Remember me to all at home, and there is not much use in sending any socks out to me as it is summer now and I have enough to last me for awhile. Is Gordon still going to school or is he at home on the farm? Well I must close.
Your affectionate son, Ronald
