May 25 - All on shore after an early breakfast. Bugle call "Fall In" and we were on the march to the Battleford column camp ground between the old and the new Battleford or between the North Saskatchewan and the Battle Rivers - a grand plain for the parade. The Middleton column, as it marched into quarters, was cheered by the Otter or Battleford column. Lines were laid down and camps pitched at once. Midlands, Grens, the 90th, the Scouts, Intelligence Corps and two batteries of artillery. Songs were sung into late night or to "Lights Out". Then some more.
