Dear mother,

Thank you for your letter's, I have recieved 3 this week, I am sorry to hear that you have it so cold, it was very cold here, I have never seen it so cold in Europe before, maggie said they had had it very cold out there as well, we are having very nice weather now just a little bit showery though. I recieved 3 Parcels a few days ago from the Red Crross, I think it was the falt of the American Express Co that we have not been getting ours lately I started yesterday to knit myself a pair of sox but I have'nt got quite enough wool to finish them, but I dare say shall be able to get some from some of the Boys to finish with. It is very good of Aunt Thornhill sending me some, I wore all mine out this winter. Do the Boys get any tennis now, remember this time five years ago what fun we had, it seems quite a while ago now. give my love to them all, & to Emmy & Joan, & please rememder me to Mr Arky, if you see him, I remain your loving Son

Tom.
